Pack an umbrella and some sturdy walking shoes, we’re headed to one of the most beautiful places in England — the Lake District.

If you’re a fan of English literature (English major *nerd alert* over here,) you are likely familiar with the area from the works of Wordsworth. Did you know Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit also originated there? (You can still visit the Beatrix Potter house, complete with Mr. McGregor’s garden.)

If your interests lie more so in the English countryside calm, firelit pub dinners, long walks in surreal scenery, and exploring the culture and heritage, you’re in for a real treat.

The Lake District remains one of my favorite places I’ve ever explored. (And solo travelers, I went by myself!) I’m excited to share my top spots with you today.
